About the game
ECON Galaxy is a classic build-up strategy game for the browser, set in a galaxy that all commanders share. It keeps running while you are offline: mines produce, fleets arrive, rivals grow.
You start with a single home world. Three resources, ferrite, crystal and helion, flow from your mines, and a Fusion Core powers them. You expand your planet with ten buildings, unlock fourteen technologies in the research lab and lay down eleven ship types and seven defenses in your shipyard.
From there the galaxy opens up. Fleets fly seven kinds of missions: deploying and transporting, attacking, spying, colonizing new worlds, mining asteroid fields and nebulae, and salvaging the debris left after a battle. Battles are fought in up to six rounds, and a victorious attacker carries off part of the defender's stored resources.
The long game is about territory. Once you hold a colony in a star system, you can claim the system and become its ruler; every other commander there is a count under your lordship. Alliances share sensor ranges, see each other's fleets and protect their members from friendly fire. A ranking, milestones and a protection for new players below 500 points round off the game.
